If you don’t know much about Ayurveda but would like to know more about how it could benefit you then read this section first.

What is Ayurveda

Ayurveda recognises that we are not the same. We are each unique and need something different. With the science of Ayurveda we learn to manage our bodies and minds as instruments given to us in this life for a specific purpose. With discipline, application of the natural laws, and by taking responsibility for our attitude and actions, we prepare the field (the Body and Mind) and allow our true nature to prevail, and we learn to live in the present moment.

The Tri-Dosha

Vata, Pitta and Kapha, the tridosha, are unique in Ayurveda. A clear understanding of the attributes and concepts of these elements will enable one to understand one’s True Nature (referred to in Ayurveda as Prakriti).

Vata Dosha

Vata is a combination of the elements Wind and Space and represents the concept of movement.

Pitta Dosha

Pitta is a combination of the elements Fire and Water and represents the concept of transformation and digestion.

Kapha Dosha

Kapha is a combination of the elements Earth and Water and represents stability.
